About

A photo artist based in Wellington, New Zealand.

I bought my first “real” camera when I was 14, and since then have been making images of what is around me.

My interest in capturing abstract and impressionist images developed in recent years. To read about my preferred photo style and explanations about abstract and impressionistic images, go here.

I am a member of the Wellington Photographic Society, a local camera group since 2002, and was awarded LPSNZ from the Photographic Society of NZ in 2014.

I have participated in group exhibitions in 2012, 2014 – 2017, and a joint exhibition Abstractium in 2014.

The technical bits:  I started shooting with film cameras, transferring to digital cameras in 1999, and then mirrorless cameras in 2011. I also use my iPhone and a number of iOS apps. To finish processing my images I use Lightroom and Affinity Photo, with Topaz, Nik, Alienskin, jfreidl, Gavin Gough, and On1 plugins on my Mac.
